Game 1 Review

That game was painful to watch. The Knicks looked awful, the refs time and time again were sucking the Heat's cock, and my boy Shumpert went down. If one thing is clear, I really hate LeBron James. He is the biggest pussy in the NBA. He was flopping left and right and the refs ate it up. This game was a complete disaster. The Knicks will be lucky to win one game.

Carmelo was completely off his game tonight, as was the rest of the Knicks. It is clear that the Knicks best player is Carmelo. When Carmelo plays, the Knicks play well. If Melo can play better on Monday the Knicks really can make a statement in this series. If Melo ups his production and forgets about the shitty performance that happened yesterday. The Knicks absolutely need Melo is they want to win this series. The Shumpert injury is going to be costly for the Knicks. He provides great defense and some offense for the Knicks. His injury is an ACL injury and is reported to keep him out for at least 6 months. Yikes.

Lebron James is the biggest pussy ever. It was clear that he flopped. The foul they called on JR Smith was pure bull shit. I think that Joonyah barely touched him and LeBron clearly fell like Joonyah elbowed him like Metta World Peace. And for the refs, who were already giving the Heat every call, to basically give him the Oscar for best actor after that play is bullshit. And now comes the flagrant foul called on Tyson. The play was clearly a foul, but a flagrant? Fuck no!!!! LeBron looked like Tyson put a knife in his back and starting twisting it. The whiplash this pussy was complaining about was his award winning reaction. That was he reaction. The (wo)man basically hurt himself on that play. LeBron better watch out. The Knicks are going to be out to get him on Monday. While the reffing probably did not make a difference in who won that game, it was probably the most atrocious reffing I have ever seen in a game. The NBA should look into this, it was to the point where it was an unacceptable job, especially in a playoff game.

Goodbye For Now

As my fellow writer Padre Bama said, we will be taking a break until Finals are over. Fortunately for you guys and unfortunately for me, I will be done everything by the 25th. This week plans out to be hell as for I have a ten page paper due on Friday, a Calc project (you read that right) due on Friday, another paper due Monday, and my Calc final on Tuesday. Sound like fun! So I will talk to you guys when my life is way better than it is now.

A Letter of Apology

As many of you may know, April is an extremely busy month for college students (especially southern schools like SDF and myself). Having the luxury of going to a southern school means two things; start early, end early. The month of April for students in southern schools consists of endless hours in the library, reading countless pages in textbooks, taking a lot of adderall, and drinking lots of redbull. Unfortunately, Pump Action has most of May until he ends. Therefore, we have made the executive business decision to shut down BHMS until May 2nd. This is a decision the staff is not happy with, but we must do. When going to college, the first and most important goal is getting an education. That is the main priority. Then having a good time or course. Finals week is going to be hell, so a lot of studying and hours in the library is in order. From all of the members of the BHMS staff, we sincerely apologize and we hope to get back to you guys as soon as possible. For now, lets go Rangers, Knicks and Mets! The countdown to summer begins.

Iman Shumpert vs. Jeremy Lin

With Jeremy Lin likely out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, Iman Shumpert has been put back into the starting line up as a shooting guard. So far, Shump has been very impressive. Shumpert has been a force on defense all year providing quality perimeter defense. His size, speed, and athletic ability are a force to be reckoned with in the NBA. On offense he has amazing range, being able to spread the ball to the arch and being able to drive to the hoop and dunk over people at times. Shump is not the best distributor in the world, but his playing style seems to work in Woodson's system pretty well. I feel Shumpert can really develop in to a solid guard in the NBA. Assuming he is only going to improve, he has his whole NBA career ahead of him. However at times, Iman can be shoot the ball a shit load even if he doesn't have the best look. But this has steadily improved over the course of the year. With solid performances as of late, I really believe this guy can be the real deal. If he works on some areas of his game, such as decision making, Iman can become one of the better guards in the NBA. I am very excited to see what comes from his development. He is bursting with potential and the Knicks should try to hold on to him for a long time, or they might seriously regret letting him loose.

There really shouldn't be any doubt that Jeremy Lin is a solid guard. He has a solid shot, can play the pick and roll like a mother fucking boss, and can really distribute the ball. He is also a quick mother fucker. Sports Science compared his quickness to the likes of John Wall and Derrick Rose. That is really fucking impressive. Does he turn over the ball a lot? Yes. But that is something that can be fixed once he gets back from injury. When Linsanity emerged out of the realms of the Knicks bench, everybody blew it to be more than it was. The media made Lin to be more of a superstar than he actually is. Lin is definitely a worthy starter and a very solid PG. He consistantally produces in some way, whether it is points, assists, or steals. He is not the best at defense, though. He at times gets easily burned. Sadly, I believe Jeremy Lin does not have nearly the potential that Shumpert has. Lin is a great player, but Shumpert has future written all over him. I'd like to keep both these guys on the Knicks. As I see it, we should start Lin and PG due to his ability to distribute the ball and Shumpert at shooting guard for his offensive potential. However I would put Shumpert to play defense on Shumpert on the better guard and let Lin play the worse guy.

Bryce Harper: The Future of Baseball

While you were in high school trying to figure out who you were going to take to senior prom, Bryce Harper was smacking home runs left and right and setting the baseball world in a frenzy. When Harper was a 15 year old freshman, he hit a 570 foot homer that traveled over the right field fence, two trees, and five lanes of Las Vegas traffic. A 570 foot homer is unheard of in the major leagues, let alone in a high school playoff game. The longest home run hit in the majors last season was a 486 ft bomb by Prince Fielder against the Astros. Prince Fielder has little less than 10 years on Harper and Mr. Harper still hit a longer home run than anyone in the majors last season at 15 years old. This is unheard of. He was the cover boy of Sports Illustrated magazine at 16, first overall pick to the Nationals in the MLB Draft at 17, and more than likely making his debut in the majors at 19. Not only is Bryce Harper the future of baseball (or the Lebron James of baseball as some call him), but he is soon to be an American icon. He's one of the most talked about players in baseball and hasn't even made his debut yet.

One thing I love about Bryce Harper is that he's pretty good, but not afraid to admit it. One thing PadreBama loves about his favorite professional athletes is cockiness. Jordan had it, Ali had it, Tiger has it, Kobe has it, Aaron Rodgers has it, and so does Bryce Harper. He's better than anyone he has ever played against and isn't shy about it. Not to mention his cheesy mustache. He also pulled the ultimate "I'm better than you" move by smacking a home run in a minor league game then blowing a kiss to the pitcher. A move that an under the drinking age baseball player shouldn't pull, but he did it anyway. Harper has earned my respect.

Don't know if I said this before, but he's pretty good. His list of accomplishments by the age of 19 is already more impressive than most people by the time they're 50. At 17 years old, he won the Golden Spikes award, which is an award given to the best amateur baseball player. This award is usually given to juniors or seniors in college, but Harper was impressive enough to win it at 17. He left high school early to accelerate his readiness for the majors and by playing better competition, because he was too good for high school ball. He went on to play in a junior college wooden bat league and hit 31 homers. In this interview by ESPN, he has gone on record by saying he wants to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer and the best player to ever live. The unbelievable thing is it could come true.

The hype Bryce Harper receives turns into major press coverage and headlines. The game of baseball needs another guy that will generate headlines wherever he goes, sort of like what Stephen Strasburg did last year. Harper will certainly be that guy when he gets moved to the majors. The media can't get enough of the guy. The comparisons to Lebron James seems to be outlandish, but fair. The way Lebron grabbed headlines as a high schooler and now in the NBA is the same way Harper will have it. Watch and see. He also loves the game more than anyone in the world. You won't find many young, cocky, and gifted athletes that have the desire and passion for the game as does Harper. He quotes that his favorite player growing up was Mickey Mantle. He know's what he wants to be when his career is done and thats impressive for a 19 year old.

We may have to wait a little bit for Harper to make his major league debut for the Nationals this year, but when he does, it will be nothing short of incredible. He was recently just sent to Triple A ball for the start of the major league season to be groomed into the future center fielder for the Nationals. Bryce Harper: baseball prodigy, American icon.

Breaking Down The Future of Two Young Stars

I'm back everyone! Sorry about that ten day lay off but I am back and ready to talk sports. Today's main topic; the futures of two young stars: Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III! With the NFL Draft drawing closer and closer excitement continues to swirl around these two future stars. Now, let me start off by saying I believe both of these young talents will have outstanding careers. Luck has the IQ and pocket presence that resembles that of Peyton Manning. On top of that he is also very mobile, which will allow him to escape defensive pressure within the pocket and make accurate throws on the run. Meanwhile, RGIII is also a remarkable talent. His unique athletic ability separates him from all others in this draft and his awareness as a quarterback has not been addressed nearly enough.

First, let's break down Andrew Luck. His college career was outstanding, racking up nearly 9500 yards as well as eighty-two touchdowns in three seasons as the starting quarterback at the University of Stanford. Some have called him the greatest quarterback they have ever scouted out of college. NFL Draft expert, Mel Kiper Jr., has projected Luck to be such a talent that he awarded him the second highest draft grade of anyone he has ever scouted, falling only to 1983 #1 pick John Elway. Although the Colts have contacted RGIII as well I think it's a safe bet to assume Luck will be Peyton's successor over in Indy. Talk about big shoes to fill!

But what can we expect from Robert Griffin III?! The answer: EXPECT BIG THINGS! Not only is RGIII a remarkable talent as an athlete, but as I eluded to earlier his quarterback awareness is what stands out to me. RGIII had a tremendous college career as the starting QB for the Baylor Bears. During that time, he threw for over 10,000 yards while piling on an additional 78 touchdowns! His pocket presence mixed with his athletic talent is the perfect combo and makes him extremely dangerous at his position. We saw RGIII rise all the way up the Mock Draft Boards during the NFL Combine, where putting it quite simply, He put on a show! At the combine Griffin showed off his athletic talents, running a 4.41 in the 40-yard dash!(fastest of all QB's this yr) But what truly impressed me was Robert Griffin's intelligence. In this Must Watch Interview with former 49ers coach Steve Mariucci RG3 demonstrates his sense of maturity as well as his awareness as a football player!  

So who's career is brighter? Tough to say and honestly I would take the approach that there is no right or wrong answer to this question. Luck will most likely be the #1 pick of this year's draft and start his career with the Indianapolis Colts. A team that is currently tearing apart their entire franchise and re-building starting with the young quarterback. The loss of center Jeff Saturday to the Green Bay Packers  may hurt the progression of Luck, but the Colts ability to re-sign Reggie Wayne gives Luck a reliable target to begin building chemistry with right off the bat. 

RGIII on the other hand is most likely heading to the Washington Redskins, who recently traded up all the way to the St. Louis Ram's #2 spot in the draft. Many wonder how RGIII would fit with the Redskins offense and question if it's the best destination for him. My answer to doubters would be, YES! Although I do not particularly like the Redskins, I see a chance for Robert Griffin III to shine with this team. With Mike Shanahan as head coach, along with the numerous free agent acquisitions of this past off-season I see no reason RGIII cannot shine. He would have dependable targets to deliver the ball to such as Chris Cooley, Santana Moss, newly acquired receivers Pierre Garcon, and Josh Morgan. These weapons around RGIII will allow for him to grow quickly as a starting quartback and also enstill the confidence in him he needs moving forward.

The futures for both these young stars is bright and sure to be full of excitement. I see RGIII getting off to the better start if he ends up going to Washington simply because he will have more weapons around him. Luck on the other hand, may struggle at first due to the lack of targets he will possess with the departure of Pierre Garcon and Dallas Clark. However, Luck's natural ability and presence as a quarterback I see as enough to get him over any hurdles he may encounter. Ultimately, I think these are two faces we will be seeing a lot of over the next decade or so! Until next time, this is E-Breezy signing off.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and Wu Tang Wednesday

Sorry for the long ass title. But there is a lot to be said.

The Good: The Knicks and Yankees
The Knicks have been dominent lately. Every time they take the court they have looked organized on both offense and defense. When Antoni was advertising for Pringles as the Knicks head coach, the team constantly looked like no one knew what the fuck they were doing. And we didn't have a defense. Under Woodson, the Knicks offense has looked the best it has all year. They are spreading the ball around and as of late Carmelo has really stepped his shit up. He has taken a leadership role on the team, and in with the injuries to STAT and Super Lintendo, Melo has taken over almost every game. Tonight, the Knicks took a shit on the highly overrated Magic. I mean sure they have the best center in the league, but the rest of their team is really not that great. Dwight looked disinterested with his sub par performance and it is clear that he wants out, and I don't blame him. The Magic suck, and Dwight deserves better. But my favorite Knick as of late has been none other than Steve "Novakane" Novak. He has been lights out from the arch. That buzzer beater tonight was so swagtastic, I almost fainted. His silky smooth shot is one to be envied throughout the whole NBA. He is like the Knicks version of Brian Scalabrine, but actually does shit. The Knicks, despite having a tough remaining schedule, should see themselves in the playoffs without a doubt.

 The Yankees are in for a fantastic year. I don't know much, but the Bombers rotation looks very solid and the offense, as always, should be among the best in the league. I'll write more about the Yanks as the regular season starts, as I really don't give a rat's ass about the spring training.

The Bad: My bracket
Like a fool, I thought I was somehow a "genius" by picking Florida State to go all the way. After the game against St. Bonaventure, I had some serious regrets. It also didn't help that I had Louisville being upset in the first fucking round. What the fuck was I thinking? This bracket was clearly not my best and was quite possibly my worst. No more picking "hot" unproven teams for me.

The Ugly: The Jets
Last Monday, the Jets were considered an underdog to get Tebow. I tried to deny this, but deep down inside I knew the Jets were going to make this fucking move. I just fucking knew it. But this move really baffles me. Didn't the Jets just give Sanchez an extension? Didn't Mike Tannenbaum announce him as our "guy" for the foreseeable future? Then the Jets had a chance to back out and not pay extra money for at most a guy who despite being a QB can only throw a few good balls a game. I just really don't understand what the Jets are doing. This year could be a very long year for Jets fans. With an unproven QB backed up by a QB who might not even be a good replacement. It looks like the Jets paid an extra 3 million just to basically get the most ridiculous and useless Wildcat formation. And clearly the Jets locker room is not happy with this move. The Jets locker room is already has enough issues to be bothered by an unwanted player. I have nothing against Tebow, and I really hope this works out in the benefit of the Jets organization, but I really don't see this happening, especially after this move.
