Knicks vs. Celtics, and my hatred for the Celtics

This was your typical Knicks Celtics game. Knicks play great basketball in the first half and get off to a firm lead by the end of the half. Boston then decides to actually try and somehow take a large lead by the end of the third quarter. Knicks make a comeback about half way through the fourth quarter and develop a lead with two minutes left. Then, Boston rips your heart out and pulls away with a last minute win or a win in overtime, which is what happened today. This is the reality Knicks fans have to deal with.

Whenever the Celtics beat the Knicks, they always rip your heart out. It's the most soul crushing defeat the Knicks will have all season. With a three point lead with seconds remaining in the game, Paul Pierce hits a dagger from beyond the arc, with a hand in his face, to tie the game at 103 with about five seconds left. Carmelo Anthony would miss the fadeaway jumper as time expired and the game would go to overtime. The first thought that went through my mind was "Boston will turn it on in OT and they'll win by nine or ten, like they always do". It wasn't exactly like that, but it was just as devastating for me. Boston would go on to win the game 115-111 in OT.

First of all, let me give respect where respect is due. Rajon Rondo is a monster. Yeah he looks like ET and he's a whiney little bitch, but Rondo can flat out ball. The numbers he put up today are absolutely ridiculous. 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 20 assists is just unbelievable. He is the definition of a stat-sheet-stuffer. With the triple-double he posted today, that's his second in three games. The last player to do that was Jason Kidd, which is truly amazing. I also have to tip my hat off to Paul Pierce. I hate Paul Pierce with a burning passion inside my heart (I will explain why later), but Pierce was clutch today as he dropped 34 points, including the game tying shot in the final seconds in the fourth. Pierce was also efficient. He shot 13-23 from the field and 4-7 from beyond the arc. Whenever the Knicks play the Celtics, it's either Pierce or Ray Allen (who was a non-factor today) that delivers the dagger. Today, it was Pierce.

The Knicks got hounded by the refs today. It seemed to me that every call went towards the Celtics, especially since they were playing in Boston. It also doesn't help that Pierce gets every foul call. Steve (the sniper) Novak missed shots he usually makes. The Knicks point guards were turnover machines. Baron Davis and Jeremy Lin combined for 12 turnovers, six each. They both tried to make the most ridiculous passes I've ever seen. Most of the passes were forced into tight spots that had no chance of getting there. Davis and Lin tried to make the nice pass that would help their team, but in the end were stupid mistakes and costly turnovers. Lin was a non-factor from the moment he stepped on the court. Ever since the Miami game, teams are starting to realize how to stop Lin. He's not strong going to his left hand like he is going to his right and Boston was forcing him to his left. Boston was double-teaming him off the pick and roll, where Lin is most dangerous. Also, whenever Lin would drive to the lane, Boston would put bodies in front of him to make Lin force a tough contested shot or force a bad pass for a turnover. Boston took Lin out of the game, which would be crucial down the stretch. Melo got his shots and was clutch in the end of the fourth, which kept us in the game. Stat had a very solid game with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The Knicks let their first half lead slip away and Boston took advantage of every opportunity they could get, and the Knicks couldn't capitalize.

It's defeats like this that make me realize that my hatred for the Boston Celtics runs deep in my blood. I hate the Celtics for many reasons. Like I've said before, whenever they win, its always last minute dramatics that always rip your heart out. Rajon Rondo is a whiney little bitch that argues every call that doesn't go his way. What bothers me most about Rondo is the fact that he should be the best point guard in the NBA, but he has NO jump shot and is dreadful from the free throw line, especially for a guard. if Rondo develops a solid jump shot and learns to hit his free throws, he could be the best point guard in the NBA easily. Kevin Garnett is a punk. I used to love Garnett when he was with the T'Wolves because he was the franchise guy and he put up ridiculous number, but now he's an aging fossil that picks for a fight almost every game. He runs his mouth almost every ten seconds even when he knows he will never be the same player he used to be. Ray Allen old ass always hits the three pointer when needed against the Knicks. Last, but not least, good ol' Paul Pierce. I just don't understand how this guy is good. First of all, he shouldn't have been an all star this year. He averages almost 17 points per game and he gets voted in based on a popularity contest. He always seems overweight and out of shape to me, but then he drives to the hoop and gets the bump and the bucket. And he's so slow. I don't know how he drives to the bucket all the time. Pierce is also a thug. From throwing up gang signs on the court to getting caught smoking weed, Pierce is hood as fuck. He shoots his jump shot like I used to shoot in the 5th grade and its money every time. I just don't understand how Pierce is good and clutch, hence why my hatred for him is so strong.

Fuck the Celtics and Boston sports in general. Tom Brady is a pussy. The Red Sox are a bunch of chicken eating, beer drinking choke artists, and the Bruins just can't beat the Rangers. New York will always be the dominant sports city. I know for a fact that the Knicks are a better team than the Celtics. Just wait and see.
